Around 6 p.m. Tuesday Cumberland City Police units were disptached to Virginia Avenue at West First Street for a report of a riot in the street involving any number of individuals, some said to be using bats and other weapons. The scene had cleared when police arrived, but after interviewing a number of witnesses police served an arrest warrent on 18 year-old Alonzo Gene Butler III. He is charged with two counts of second degree assault, two counts of affray and disorderly conduct. He was being held on $10,000 bond.
