Fort Hill High School was evacuated on September 20, 2012, after the discovery of a threatening message in a second floor bathroom. An arrest was made on October 4, 2012, after a joint investigation into this incident by the school system and the Cumberland City Police Department. However, based upon additional information gained from the investigation, criminal charges against the student have been dropped, and no further disciplinary actions will be taken by the Board of Education as the matter has been resolved with the student and family. The student will be returning to school immediately.
