Sunday at 4:23 AM, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, responded to west bound I-68 at the 34 mile marker for a personal injury accident.
Troopers located a 2007 black Mazda passenger vehicle registered in MD. The vehicle was unturned off of the right shoulder in the woods, in the area of the Frostburg exit.
The vehicle was driven by Anthony Saweikis 2nd (22 years old of Rawlings, MD.) Investigation revealed, Saweikis was traveling west bound on I-68 when he lost control of his vehicle and it travelled off of the right shoulder into the woods.
Saweikis was injured from the incident and was transported to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Frostburg Ambulance Service. Alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident. Mr. Saweikis was charged for negligent driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
