Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Cox, has announced the appointment of Tracey Leonard as the Interim Assistant Supervisor of Health, Physical Education, Athletics, and Mental Health for the 2018-2019 school year. Several of these responsibilities were previously under the direction of Dr. Ben Brauer, who has accepted a position at Frostburg State University.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Interim Assistant Supervisor of Health, PE, Athletics, and Mental Health,” said Leonard. “I look forward to working with my colleagues at the Board of Education and in the schools to deliver high quality education in the classroom and on the athletic field.”

Tracey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision, both from Frostburg State University. Her first year in Allegany County Public Schools she served as an elementary PE teacher, and for the past thirteen years she has been the PE teacher at Westmar Middle School.

Tracey’s position at Westmar will be filled by a long-term sub this school year.
