Superintendent Announces Several New Administrative Staffing Positions

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. David Cox, recently announced that Lora Puffenberger, currently the Assistant Principal at Washington Middle School, will assume the role of Interim Principal at Westmar Middle School beginning this school year. Lora will fill the vacancy left by Stephanie Wesolowski who has accepted a position in Garrett County.

               Lora began her tenure in ACPS in 2010 as the AP at Washington where she has remained to date. “I am delighted and honored to be appointed to this position,” said Puffenberger. “I am looking forward to working with the students, staff, parents, and the community of Westmar Middle School as we continue to ROAR to excellence.” She received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 in Elementary/Early Childhood and her Master of Education degree in 2000 in Administration and Supervision, both from Frostburg State University.

               Tonya Detrick-Grove will relocate to Washington Middle School as the Interim Assistant Principal, and Dr. Charlene Shingler-Beeman will fill the role of Interim Coordinator for the Eckhart Alternative Program.
