The idea of snow days for students in the Maryland schools could have a different look in the near future as a growing number of students across the state routinely go to their iPad to see what assignments teachers have waiting. Both private and public schools are turning traditional snow days into cyber days that sometimes require students to use the Internet and email to stay connected to their teachers, allowing educators to stick more closely to lesson plans. While this is u wonderful idea, please remember that not all families have access to the internet or to a computer. This isn’t something everyone can afford and it’s not right to punish kids for that.

A snow day is good for the soul, mental health and just plain fun.
I snow day packet could be given to all students to take home in October. Then those who have technology can use iPads.
