Supreme Court Same Sex Discussion Won’t Affect Maryland

The Supreme Court will get the chance to rule on the same constitutional right to marry apply to gay Americans. Maryland began issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples Thursday after voters approved the same sex marriage law in November. Same sex couples won't be able to officially get married until the new year, when the Maryland law takes effect. Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler says any Supreme Court decision will not nullify same sex marriages in Maryland.
