April 29th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Early Sunday morning, 04/28/2013, at approximately 2:45 AM, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance on Brice Hollow Road in Oldtown. When Deputies arrived they discovered two teenaged girls, and two older siblings, in an argument with a 28 year old male from Hyndman, Pennsylvania. During initial interviews, Deputies learned that the male suspect had made contact with the 13 and 14 year old friends via the internet on Facebook, and that they had made plans to meet in order to have sex.

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) were requested to respond to the scene to assist in the investigation. Further interviews by C3I Investigators revealed that the suspect had been communicating with the two girls, knowing that they were only 13 and 14 years of age, and that they agreed to meet that night. An older sibling of each of the two girls also responded to the arranged meeting location. When they met, an argument occurred which drew the attention of a nearby neighbor. The neighbor utilized his vehicle to block the suspect’s vehicle in so he could not leave prior to the arrival of the police. During the argument, the suspect assaulted one of the young teens and one of the older siblings.

Investigators were able to review the contents of some of the communication between the suspect and the victims. As a result, Investigators arrested 28 year old William Martin Bowles III, and charged him with two (2) counts of Sexual Solicitation of a Minor and two (2) counts of 2nd Degree Assault.

Bowles was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. He is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $25,000.00 bond pending his next court appearance.
