On 8/18/16 at approximately 8 p.m. two unidentified African American males approached a subject in the area of the Philos Avenue Cemetery located in Westernport, MD and demanded that he surrender his wallet to them. A brief struggle ensued during which time one of the suspects displayed a knife. The victim in this incident was later treated and released at Garrett County Memorial Hospital for a laceration to the hand. The suspects fled from the scene it a white in color Chevrolet Pick-up truck. Allegany County Deputies as well as Troopers from Barrack "C" of the Maryland State Police attempted to locate the vehicle and the suspects however; have so far been unsuccessful. Suspect #1 was described as being 6 feet in height, and weighing approximately 180lbs, wearing a white in color shirt, black shorts and black shoes. Suspect #2 was described as being similar in height and build as suspect #1. Suspect #2 was reported to be wearing a West Virginia University basketball style shirt and white shorts. At this time we are requesting the public's assistance in locating the persons responsible.
