Swanton resident and Allegany County taxpayers Jeff Davis has filed a federal suit in the hopes of removing a Ten Commandments monument on the front lawn of the Allegany County Circuit Courthouse on Washington Street. Both Commission President Jake Shade and Commissioner Bill Valentine have been vocal in both their disgust of the request and the idea of removing the monument, which they comment isn't even in plain view on the lawn.
