Synthetic Drug Cases Drop Dramatically in 2013

February 27th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

A public information campaign and a local crackdown on businesses selling substances used to create synthetic marijuana and bath salts is apparently paying off.  A law banning most of the substances and possible derivatives was approved in 2012 in Allegany County with Sheriff Craig Robertson and the county commissioners initiating the effort. While some manufacturers and distributors have found many ways to skirt the laws and regulations, Sheriff Robertson tells WCBC News that the number of reported incidents in the county have dropped dramatically in the past year.
