Talk Of Boosting National Speed Limit

Nearly 40 years after the national speed limit was lowered from 70 to 55 miles-per hour, a group of legislators think it’s time to boost the speed limit from the current 65 on interstate highways back to 70.   . State Senator George Edwards filed legislation in the senate that would allow the speed limit on Interstate 68 and other interstates in Maryland to be increased from a maximum of 65 mph to 70 mph. It’s the first time Edwards has introduced the speed limit bill. Edwards wants to allow the speed limit to be raised to 70 by transportation officials. At the West Virginia border, the interstate speed limit increases to 70, where it continues through the rest of its length in that state.     Why in Gods name would you want to make the speed limit higher. Havent you had enough of the deaths on our highway’s do to high rate of speed. OR IS IT DO TO WE ARE NOT USING ENOUGH GAS UP TO PLEASE OUR LEADERS. Slow down. Enjoy life.
