Terps Tighten Bag Policy For Football, Basketball Games

August 4th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The University of Maryland is tightening rules on what kinds of bags fans can bring into football and basketball games this season.

If you're going to a game and wish to bring a bag, the bag must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches; a gallon-size clear freezer bag; or a small clutch bag. All other bags, including purses, backpacks, camera bags and diaper bags, won't be allowed into Maryland Stadium or the Xfinity Center.

Football season tickets will get a clear tote bag in their season ticket shipment. The new bag policy mirrors that enacted by the NFL in 2013.

At the stadium, they'll have no-bag express lanes, $10 lockers at Lot Q and Z and gallon-sized bags provided to fans on request, with large clear bags available for purchase.
