Texas Gov. Rick Perry Meets With Maryland Business Leaders

One week after airing a series of radio and television commercials encouraging Maryland businesses to relocate to Texas, Governor Rick Perry was in Maryland Wednesday to meet with business leaders.  Perry arrived just before 10 a.m. to meet with officials of Beretta USA at their manufacturing facility in Accokeek, in Prince George's County. That company had earlier said it was considering moving its gun manufacturing plant out of Maryland, because of the state's new gun control that takes effect next month, which among other things bans the sale of a number of weapons the company makes. In the ads, Perry does not mention O'Malley by names, but he does say that "your governor has made Maryland the tax and fee state where businesses and families are paying some of the highest taxes in America." Conversely, O’Malley- who is considering a run for the White House in 2016- has been touting Maryland’s pro-business credentials during public appearances…
