Theft summons’ served

On Friday, Cumberland City Police officers charged a Cumberland woman with theft related charges which resulted from an investigation initiated by the Cumberland City Police on 10/03/2014.  The victim in this case reported that a laptop computer had been taken from a Frederick Street residence while they slept.  The victim was able to identify a possible suspect in this case, and officers were able to confirm the suspect’s identity by records recovered during the investigation.  As a result Bridget Brianne Michael, 30, of Cumberland was charged with the following:

Theft Less than $1000.00 value – 1 count.

Michael was processed for the charge and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

 

    Also Friday, police officers charged a Capon Bridge WV man with theft related charges which were the result of a private citizen complaint filed at District Court.  According to court documents suspect Calvin Wesley Shirley Jr., 38, allegedly took tools valued at over $1000.00 from an Oldtown Maryland address without the victim’s permission.  The complaint alleges that the theft occurred between October 4th and October 5th, 2014.  The victim in this case filed for charges and as a result Shirley was charged with the following:

Theft: $1000.00 to Under $10,000.00 – 1 count

Shirley was processed for the charge and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.
