Thousands Remain Without Power In Garrett Co.

Thousands of Potomac Edison customers remain without electrical service throughout Garrett County, where up to 30 inches of snow has fallen in the last few days. On Thursday, to get a firsthand look at the damage, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley took a tour of the area and provided a briefing during a stop in Oakland. Countywide efforts to remove downed trees and power lines continued without letup Thursday, but officials were not certain how soon things would return to normalcy in the state’s westernmost county. At the height of the storm, more than 17,000 customers were without power, and that number has not significantly reduced since than with Oakland along having more than 6,000 customers without power as of late Thursday…
