Three arrested following burglary attempt in Cumberland

On Friday officers from the Cumberland City Police responded to Altamont Terrace for a burglary in progress.Upon their arrival the officers spoke with a witness, who stated she observed the door to apartment #1 ajar and a male subject inside.  The witness advised the officers that the male subject exited the apartment and entered into apartment #2.

The officers contacted two subjects, Brian Michael Ensminger & Eileen Marie Searles inside of apartment #2.

The officers also contacted a third subject, Tia Marie Jones inside of apartment #3.

While inside of the two apartments the officer observed numerous household that they believed to have been stolen from apartment #1.

The officers contacted the tenant of apartment #1 and she responded to the building at the officer’s request.

The tenant of apartment #1 verified that the numerous items inside of apartments #2 & #3 was her property and had been removed from her apartment without her consent.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, the following subjects were placed under arrest:  Brian Michael Ensminger, Eileen Marie Searles & Tina Marie Jones.

They were transported to the station for charges and processing.  Later in the evening they were presented before the district court commissioner for their initial appearance.  The result of the hearings are as follows:

Brian Michael Ensminger 33 Y/O, Cumberland, MD – held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,500.00.

Eileen Marie Searles 60 Y/O, Cumberland, MD – held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,500.00

Tina Marie Jones 34 Y/O, Cumberland, MD – posted $3,500.00 bond.

 

All three subjects were charged with the following:

 

Burglary – 3rd degree

Burglary – 4th degree

Theft less than $1,000.00
