Three Charged After Henderson Avenue Disturbance Escalates

On Satufday, several officer from the Cumberland City Police assisted by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Henderson Avenue for a domestic disturbance.

When the initial Cumberland officers’ arrived on scene they observed several individuals involved in an argument. Officers attempted gain control of the dispute but the situation escalated and officers arrested Rodney James Iliff Jr, Juan Carlos Contreras, and Tabitha Nadean McKinley to resolve the conflict.

All three subjects were taken to the Cumberland City Police Station. McKinley was later released on criminal citation and both Contreras and Iliff were taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.

Tabitha Nadean McKinley, age: 22, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charges: Fail to obey a lawful order and disorderly conduct.

Cited and released

Rodney James Iliff Jr, age: 26, Cumberland, Maryland.

Charges: Disorderly conduct, fail to obey a lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering, and interfering with a lawful arrest.

Held on $2,000

Juan Carlos Contreras, age: 29, Tampa, Florida.

Charges: Disorderly conduct, fail to obey a lawful order, disturbing the peace, obstructing and hindering, resisting arrest, and assault 2nd.

Held on $5,000
