Time Running Out To Get Health Care Coverage

If you have yet to secure medical benefits mandated under the Affordable Care Act, you'll need to do so before March 31 or face a fine — starting at $95 per year. The marketplace health plans offer what are considered essential health care benefits — including doctor's visits, prescriptions, emergency room visits, hospitalizations, maternal and infant care and preventative care. Under the plan, folks who are sick can't be turned away or charged more. In addition, older patients can't be charged more than younger people.  People who sign up by March 15 will have coverage on April 1, and those who enroll by March 31 will have coverage on May 1.
