The Cumberland Times News reports a tractor-trailer driver died Friday morning after crashing into a residence in the 12000 block of Bittinger Road, according to Maryland State Police. Four people were in the home but not injured. Garrett County 911 emergency center alerted units at about 11:30 a.m.
The Allegany County Collapse Team was also called to the scene due to damage to the structure.
Troopers from the McHenry barrack were being assisted in the investigation by the state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division.
In a separate incident, at 12:10 p.m., the Garrett County 911 Center dispatched first-responders to the Herrington Manor Road area of Oakland where a vehicle reportedly traveled out of control and overturned.
