On Friday at 7:45PM, troopers the Cumberland Barrack responded a motor vehicle collision northbound on Route 36 at the Mountain View Landfill. Upon investigation, it was revealed that tractor trailer driven by a Gregory Cecil Skidmore of Eckhart, Maryland was traveling on Route 36 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway. The driver then over corrected the vehicle causing it to overturn and lose its load. The vehicle was carrying 26,000 lbs of wooden pallets. Route 36 was closed for over 5 hours while clean up crews removed the debris. MDE also responded to the scene due to a fuel spill. Mr. Skidmore was charged for the incident. No injuries were reported.
