UPDATE: Accident with injury

November 18th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

Maryland State Police and the State Highway Administration on Wednesday responded to the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer that was hauling bottled beer on Interstate 68 East at the 25-mile marker, near Lower New Germany Road in Garrett County. The Cumberland Times News reports MSP said the truck driver, Kernie Seagraves, 29, of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, faces charges because he failed to reduce speed in extremely foggy conditions. Seagraves reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and spilled its load of bottled beer onto the roadway and shoulder. Seagraves refused medical treatment. A passenger, Tiffany Ratliff, 18, also of Sandy Hook, was transported to the hospital. The interstate remained open following the accident but the right lanes and shoulder were closed during cleanup.
