Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges Against City Woman

On Saturday, an officer with Cumberland City Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Maryland Ave. During the course of the stop, a police K-9 was utilized to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle which alerted positive to the presence of a controlled dangerous substance within the vehicle.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants, a female passenger was found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine as well as other related CDS paraphernalia. The female initially identified herself using a fictitious name but was later positively identified as Jordan Michele Hollingsworth, age 30, of Cumberland MD.

Hollingsworth was also found to have an active Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation issued by Allegany County District Court. As a result, Hollingsworth was placed under arrest and taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance. Hollingsworth was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, held on a total of $5500 bond.

Arrested: Jordan Michele Hollingsworth Age: 30, Cumberland MD.

Charges: Possession of Crack Cocaine, Poss. CDS Paraphernalia,

Poss. Controlled CDS Paraphernalia, False Name to Avoid Prosecution,

Obstructing and Hindering,

Bench Warrant – Violation of Probation.
