Traffic Stop Turns Into Weapons Violations Arrest

On 5-2-12 at approximately 1253 hours Troopers assigned to the McHenry Barrack stopped a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for excessive speed (99 MPH in a posted 65 MPH zone) on westbound I-68 near Chestnut Ridge Road. As a result of a canine scan, a search of the vehicle was conducted. The search revealed a .38 caliber revolver and several loose rounds of ammunition. A nine inch blade knife was also discovered during the search. The driver, identified as Gregory Odum II, 32 years of age, of Fredericksburg, VA was charged with two different weapons violations for the gun and one concealed deadly weapon charge for the knife. He was also cited for 99 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

After a bond review at the Garrett County District Court Commissioner's Office, Odum II was held on $15,000 bail.
