Travel Expected To Increase This Memorial Day Compared To Last Year

It appears slightly more people will travel this Memorial Day holiday weekend compared to last year. AAA Mid-Atlantic projects 721,000 Marylanders will travel this holiday weekend that is about a 1.4% increase over last year. Ragina Averella, Manager of Government and Public Affairs at AAA Mid-Atlantic told WBAL News the increase is due to a slightly improving economy and falling gas prices. Averella does say travelers won't be going as far away from home as they have in the past, due in part to the economy leading people to tighten their budgets. She does say that gasoline prices are lower compared to last year. Averella says the average price for regular in Maryland is down almost 30 cents from a year ago…
