A Hardy County woman was fatally injured and her husband was hospitalized after their pick-up traveled out of control late Tuesday afternoon on Route 28.
West Virginia State Police say that Debbie Saul, 64, of Baker, died at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following the 4:55 pm crash near Springfield. Larry Saul, 65, also of Baker, was taken to the same hospital by the Romney Rescue Squad for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle crash.
Debbie Saul is said to have lost control on a curve and upon leaving the east roadway edge of Route 28, the vehicle collided with foliage and the ground before coming to rest on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation.
