Two arrested in Cumberland on drug and weapons charges

On Thursday members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Cumberland City Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack and Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, executed a search and seizure warrant in the 600 block of Baker Street and 400 block of Baltimore Avenue, Cumberland, MD. Entry into both residences were made by Maryland State Police S.T.A.T.E.

 

Members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force were investigating the distribution and sales of crack cocaine in Allegany County and a fugitive warrant for Roddrick Lacy Davis, 38, of Baltimore, for Attempted First Degree Murder stemming from a shooting in Baltimore City.  Davis was located in the residence and taken into custody without incident. Asia Anthony was also located inside the residence. During the subsequent search, Allegany County Narcotics Task Force investigators located large amounts of crack cocaine, CDS packing materials, U.S. Currency and a stolen handgun.

 

As a result of the search, Davis was charged with the following:

 

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
  • Possession of Crack Cocaine
  • CDS Possession of Firearms
  • Regulated Firearm: Stolen
  • Firearm Possession with Felony Conviction
  • Regulated Firearm: Illegal Possession   

 

Anthony was charged with the following:

 

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
  • Possession of Crack Cocaine

 

Davis and Anthony were taken to a District Court Commissioner. Davis was held without bail and Anthony was released on a $20,000.00 unsecured personal bond.
