September 30th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

On Friday, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Baltimore Street and George Street for a disturbance.  The caller reported that a male subject was waving around a taser and almost hit his daughter with it.  Officers located a male matching the description of the suspect who was accompanied by a female.  These subjects were identified as William Morris and Tanya Saville.  During the investigation, Saville became uncooperative and kept trying to leave.  A stun gun was located inside Saville’s purse.  After being told by police that the stun gun was being seized, Morris and Saville became upset and started yelling.  The subjects were advised to stop yelling.  Morris and Saville continued to yell and create a disturbance, cursing at a group of individuals.  The subjects were again warned to stop yelling.  They refused to listen to officers and continued to yell, drawing the attention of multiple people in the area.  Officers then advised the subjects that they were under arrest.  Morris resisted arrest and Saville assaulted one of the officers.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the police station.  They were taken before the District Court Commissioner where they were both released on their personal recognizance.
