Allegany County States Attorney Michael Twigg announce Friday that Timothy Finan, Judge of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, Maryland, sentenced Eddison E. Pegus, Jr., 27, of Baltimore, Maryland, to ten (10) years within the Division of Corrections; of which three (3) years will be suspended, for a total of seven (7) years actual incarceration.  Upon Mr. Pegus’ release from prison he will be on five (5) years of supervised probation.  The sentence was the result of plea wherein Mr. Pegus was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane; Mr. Pegus was represented by George V. McKinley, Esq.

In Addition:

Judge Finnan,  sentenced Karl Stovall Chambers, 23, of Baltimore, Maryland, to eight (8) years within the Division of Corrections; of which four (4) years will be suspended.  Upon Mr. Chambers’ release from prison he will be on five (5) years of supervised probation.  The sentence was the result of plea wherein Mr. Chambers was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Mr. Chambers was additionally sentenced on a unrelated single count of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine for which he received an additional eight (8) years, four (4) of which was suspended to run consecutive to the sentence which he received in the proceeding count.  With convictions in both of these matters Mr. Chambers will serve a total sentence of eight (8) years actual incarceration, with eight (8) years suspended, and five (5) years of probation.   

Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane; Mr. Chambers was represented by Michael Stankan, Esq., of the Public Defender’s Office.
