Two Cumberland men arrested on burglary charges

On August 9, the Cumberland Police Department served Arrest Warrants on Calman McKenzie, age 24 of Cumberland.  One Arrest Warrant charged McKenzie with Third Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, Second Degree Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.  McKenzie was held without bond following his Initial Appearance.  The second Arrest Warrant stemmed from Worchester County District Court.  The Warrant charged McKenzie with CDS possession not marijuana along with DUI related traffic charges.  McKenzie was also held without bond following his Initial Appearance in this case.  The third Arrest Warrant was for McKenzie Failing to Appear for trial in Circuit Court on July 2, 2019.  McKenzie was also held without bond in this case pending his appearance in Circuit Court.

 Police also served Arrest Warrants on Chanton Cleggett, age 30 of Cumberland.  The first Arrest Warrant charged Cleggett with theft under $100.  After his Initial Appearance in this case he was released on his own recognizance.  The second Arrest Warrant was for Cleggett Failing to Appear in District Court on April 22, 2019 for Second Degree Assault and Fourth Degree Burglary charges.  After his Initial Appearance in this case he was also released on his own recognizance.  The third Arrest Warrant was for Cleggett Failing to Appear in Circuit Court on July 10, 2019.  He was again released on his own recognizance in this case.

    Fails to appear in courtx2…gets released on own recognizance. Makes complete sense =P
