Two FCI Correctional Officers assaulted by inmate on New Years Eve

According to a press release, the assault of two correctional officers that led to a lockdown at the Federal Correctional Institution at Mexico Farms remains under investigation. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons the incident occurred Dec. 31 at about 11:05 a.m. when staff responded to an inmate acting erratically in the housing unit.. The inmate allegedly became belligerent and aggressive and assaulted staff. There have been rumors in the community in the past week that  the prison had been placed on lockdown, but no official statement was issued until Thursday afternoon- 11 days after the incident.FCI Cumberland is a medium security facility located in the Mexico Farms area and according to its website houses more than 900  male offenders.

    Why did it take 10 days for the Public to know??? Seems to be usual from this community, only makes me think…….What else isn’t being revealed???
