February 10th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Two Harford County sheriff's deputies shot Wednesday have died. The deputies, one a 30-year veteran and the other a 16-year veteran, were killed in a standoff and pursuit that began at just before noon when deputies were called to the Panera Bread in Abington. One deputy was shot when confronting the suspect in the rear of the restaurant, and the other was shot during the pursuit. At least two–not the deputies who were killed–opened fire on the shooter. The gunman, who was killed in a pursuit, was identified as David Brian Evans, 67. Evans had an outstanding warrant in Florida, and a civil court warrant in Harford County. Gahler said someone who knew the Evans' status may have called authorities.
