June 11th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Two major house fires overnight in Allegany County resulted in three people taken to Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment. At around 3:30 PM, firemen responded to Brant Road in Cresaptown with one person taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and five people displaced. Firemen were on the scene for two and a half hours.

At 4 AM, firemen were called to Broadway Street in Frostburg and spent two hours fighting the blaze. A mother and child were hospitalized for observation. As you may suspect, just about every fire unit in the region was involved in the effort, with companies from Allegany, Garrett, Mineral and Somerset Counties responding to either of the fires.
