Two overnight fires in Maryland have left a girl and a 75-year-old man fighting for their lives Friday. The first fire happened around 1 a.m. in Joppa, about 20 miles northeast of Baltimore. The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company says they pulled a girl from a burning mobile home in the 1000 block of Pulaski Highway. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Firefighters didn't release her age. The second fire happened at 1:30 a.m. in Montgomery County. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Department says a 75-year-old man got life-threatening burns while trying to put out a fire at his Bethesda home. He's in critical condition at a local hospital. The first fire is under investigation. The second is believed to be caused by an electrical problem.
