On October 4, 2011 at approximately 3:30 PM, officers working in the 1300 block of Virginia Ave. observed two male subjects acting in a suspicious manner. Officers observed the subjects changing tags from one vehicle to another, at which time officers contacted the subjects and identified them as; Jeffery M. Beard and Tyler D. Beal. During the course of the investigation it was found that Beard was wanted on two outstanding warrants. As officers were talking with Beard they observed him toss something into an open van door. Beard was placed under arrest and when officers checked to see what he had dropped they recovered a .25 caliber semi automatic pistol. Beard was searched incident to the arrest and was also found to be in possession of a several pills which were found to be schedule IV narcotics and not prescribed to him.Officers also conducted a search of Tyler and located a large quantity of schedule IV pills and schedule II Methylphenidate Transdermal System / Daytrana patches, none of which were found to be prescribed to Tyler. At this time Tyler was also placed under arrest and both he and Beard were transported to Police Headquarters and charged.

Charges: Wear/Carry a Concealed Dangerous/Deadly Weapon, Possession CDS-Not Marihuana, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, Theft
Warrants: VOP for Possession of CDS-Not Marihuana, FTA for Driving on a Suspended License
Disposition: Awaiting Bond Hearing
Tyler D. Beal Age: 20 Colorado Avenue, Cumberland
Charges: Two Counts of Possession of CDS-Not Marihuana, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle
