UPDATE: Two-Vehicle Accident on Route 51

According to the Allegany County 911 emergency center, three people were taken to the hospital and several others initially declined transport to the medical facility Thursday morning when a van and another vehicle collided on Route 51 at PPG Road. The injuries were not believed to be of a life-threatening nature following the 5:43 a.m. crash. Three people were taken from the scene to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by District 16 and Bowman's Addition ambulances. The Cumberland Times News reports the other four victims were at the Ramada Inn on South George Street when they  requested Cumberland Fire Department ambulances to take them to the hospital for medical evaluation and treatment at about 8:45 a.m. The accident was investigated by the Allegany County Sheriff's Office.
