U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Fugitive Wanted For Attempted Murder

Martinsburg, WV. – On July 24, 2013 the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force utilizing members from the United States Marshals Service and the West Virginia State Police, were able to locate and arrest Robert Doyle III of Cottage Road, Martinsburg West Virginia.
Robert Doyle III 49, of Martinsburg was wanted by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office on warrants issued May 28, 2013 charging Doyle III with Attempted Murder and Abuse of an Incapacitated Adult stemming from an incident that occurred around May 7, 2013. The criminal complaint stated Doyle III placed a plastic bag over the victim’s head and told her to die on one occasion. On another Doyle III choked the victim with a shirt telling her she was “not worth living, not worth anything”. The complaint also alleged Doyle III committed other abuses toward his spouse who was paralyzed and could not use her legs, one arm and had limited use of the other arm.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force located Doyle III at his apartment on Cottage Road in Martinsburg, West Virginia and arrested him without incident.

The Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF) is comprised of three offices and covers the Northern portion of West Virginia. The Martinsburg Office of MSFTF is a team of the following Federal, State and Local agencies: West Virginia State Police, Martinsburg City Police Department, Shepherdstown Police Department, Berkeley, Jefferson, Mineral, and Morgan County Sheriff’s Offices and the U.S. Marshals Service.
The primary mission of the U.S. Marshals led task forces is to locate and capture fugitives charged with violent crimes, drug crimes, sex offenders and other violent felony offenses.
