Unemployment Rate Rises in May Despite Adding 4,600 Jobs

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the May unemployment rate rose to 6.7 percent, a two tenths increase from April. Maryland added 4,600 jobs in May- 2,800 were in the private sector. The April jobless rate was also adjusted from 6,200 to 4,900.
