Unless An Agreement Is Reached BOE And Commissioners Headed To Court

July 29th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

Another showdown between the Allegany County Commissioners and the Board of Education is heading for a courtroom if an agreement is not reached by August 5.  County Commissioner Bill Valentine is the ex-officio member of the school board by virtue of his position on the county board.  Valentine says he deserves to be at all meetings, not just public meetings of the school board.

Valentine referenced a letter sent on July 22 to the school board warning that unless the board permits Valentine to attend executive sessions, then the commissioners will go to court.
