On 04/22/2012, Troopers from MSP Hagerstown responded to a collision where a pedestrian was struck in the parking lot of the Food Lion on Jefferson Boulevard near Smithsburg, MD. Investigation revealed that a Ford pickup driven by Terry Alan Nalley of Smithsburg struck George Bargmann, also of Smithsburg, while Bargmann was walking in the parking lot. Bargmann (58 years old), was taken to Meritus Medical in critical condition. On 04/24/2012, Bargmann succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased while being attended to at Meritus Medical.
The investigation into the incident continues. No charges will be filed until the investigation is complete.
