Other Areas May Try to Lobby DelFest Away

In 2010, there were rumblings that DelFest may leave Allegany County as a result of a dispute with the Liquor Board- however those differences were ultimately resolved and the annual festival has grown in popularity since. But, with no contract in place beyond next month’s event at the Allegany County Fairgrounds, the operation will essentially be free to field offers from other communities desiring to serve as host of what has become one of the premier festivals of its kind in the nation. Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine tells WCBC News that while he anticipates other areas to lobby for DelFest, he is confident a new long term deal with Allegany County will be signed and has no concerns over losing the event…
