As first reported last week by WCBC News, a bio tech firm has chosen to locate its headquarters in Allegany County within the next 90 days. Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine, confirmed on his Facebook page Tuesday afternoon that the company, currently based in Baltimore, will locate in the Allegany Business Center at Frostburg State University. The company, he says, is headed by CEO and chemical engineer Dr. Kimberly Brown. Last week Valentine told WCBC that the company- now identified as Advent- an affiliate of Amethyst Technologies that specializes in specializes in pharmaceutical, health care and food and beverage industries- will locate at the ABC Business Park at Frostburg State University. About 20 well paying job should be created within its first twelve months of operation.
