Valentine Says County Mislead by Evitts

August 2nd, 2012 by WCBC Radio

Although the revised slots plan at Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort was not enthusiastically received by the Allegany County Commissioners- it beats the alternative of the lodge closing.  Evitts Resort told the state gaming commission this week  it could not get the financing needed for a planned $65 million addition to the lodge to house 850 slot machines. Instead, Evitts will put 500 machines in meeting space inside the current facility. County Commissioner Bill Valentine said the county was mislead.
