Van Hollen Draws Sharp Criticism from Local Constituents

June 17th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen spoke on the Senate Floor Tuesday on the immediate need for the Senate to take up the Justice in Policing Act, legislation that aims to end police brutality, hold police accountable, improve transparency in policing, and create meaningful, structural change that safeguards every American’s right to safety and equal justice….

The Maryland Democrat’s support of the  Black Lives Matter movement isn’t sitting well with some of this Western Maryland constituents who phoned WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” with strong criticism of Van Hollen…

The combined population of Allegany and Garrett Counties is about 100K which is about .015% of Maryland’s total population. Does anybody really think Van Hollen gives a crap about what the folks think out here?

        > 100K is .015% of 666 Million, about 100 times the population of Maryland. A vastly more accurate figure would have been 1.5%.

Two words..Criminal Justice..what a joke…we are so far down that rabbit hole there is no coming back. This movement is just a natural progression of this warped concept.

      > Mmmm… seeking “JUSTICE” in our criminal system offends you?? Interesting. Guess you’d rather stick with the random & IMMEDIATE public executions some police prefer for minor traffic & other violations?

Cumberland cops have a good reputation. But police training in urban areas needs an overhaul. Cops can’t be ‘roid raged males with a short fuse. They have to be intelligent and patient. Major overhaul in big multi-cultural cities needed. We need a new breed of cop trained in police work, not confrontation and explosions of violence. Why can’t some cops verbally handle situations? Here’s to all the good cops who are unsung heroes.
