Tonight at 7 p.m., Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD-08) will host a rally in solidarity with federal workers, private contractors, small businesses and citizens whose work and home lives have been profoundly disrupted by the Trump shutdown. Raskin’s congressional district is home to thousands of contractors and more than 80,000 federal workers, many of whom have been furloughed or forced to work without pay.
Senator Chris Van Hollen; Reps. Jamie Raskin, John Sarbanes (MD-03), Don Beyer (VA-08), and Abigail Spanberger (VA-07); American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) President J. David Cox; and other special guests will share how the shutdown has affected their friends, family members, neighbors, and community. There will also be a musical performance by the DC Labor Chorus.
