Vets gaming bill still alive

March 11th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

A bill that would allow up to five pull tab machines at veterans organizations in many counties in the state has passed the Maryland Senate by a vote of 47-0. The Cumberland Times News reports that Senator George Edwards was one of the sponsors of Senate Bill 11, legislation which is designed to help the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Pull tab machines, whether manual or electronic, involve matching pictures from cards or electronic machines.

They offer more lively play than tip jars, which are permitted in Allegany County for most nonprofits.

    The non-profit veterans’ organizations
really need this boost to prevent a
    reduction in charitable donations in
    the future .
Your article should help this cause .
