On Friday July 17, 2015 at approximately 9:10 p.m., Cumberland City Police officers were dispatched to the WMRMC in reference to a patient that had just arrived for treatment of stab wounds. Officers arrived at the hospital and interviewed the victim in this case who advised that they had been attacked on Virginia Avenue, a short time prior to this report. The victim was initially unable to provide investigating officers with a detailed description of his attackers and did not provide an exact location of the assault. C3I investigators were contacted and assumed the investigation. There were no further details on this incident at the time of this press release. A C3I press release will follow as the investigation progresses.
