Wagoner back in

April 2nd, 2012 by WCBC Radio

With dozens of supporters working behind the scenes and out-of-town job responsibilities expected to be reduced greatly in the coming months, Cumberland City Council candidate Nicole Wagoner has decided once again to actively campaign for the post. Growing professional commitments, including regular management trips to Dover, Delaware filling her schedule, forced Ms. Wagoner to announce in February that she would suspend her campaign for a seat on the city council, believing she would not be able to have the time necessary to adequately perform duties as a member of council. In addition, Ms Wagoner had concerns about a lack of time to spend on actual campaigning for the seat. Despite that announcement, supporters continued to push for her election, going so far as to produce and post signs and placards around town, while at the same time urging her to re-consider. Learning recently that her job requirements outside of the area would be declining during the spring and summer months, and with a continuing  desire to serve the community, Wagoner  decided to re-start an active campaign for council.  With Wagoner’s re-entry, there are now 8 active candidates vying for two council seats, with that field being narrowed to four in Tuesday’s primary.  Candidate Nick DeArcangelis dropped out on Friday.
