The field of candidates vying for seats on the Cumberland City Council is down to eight as Nicole Wagoner has decided not to actively campaign at this time. Ms Wagner, Director of Sales at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, told WCBC News on Wednesday that increasing responsibilities on the job would make it difficult for her to dedicate the necessary time required to serve as a council member.
Those expanded responsibilities include regular management trips to Dover Delaware. Wagoner, who serves on a number of boards for local organizations, said that she won’t rule out a possible run for office in the future. Although she had decided not to campaign, Ms Wagoner’s name will remain on the ballot as the deadline to withdraw has passed.
