A recent Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, September 14, 2015 and concluded Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Our goal continues in making our streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants.

This initiative resulted in the arrest of Twenty-four (24) individuals on active arrest warrants, with a total of Thirty-four (34) arrest warrants being served.

This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.
